International Women's Media Foundation is seeking applications for its Lauren Brown Fellowship, created in memory of Lauren Alix Brown, a founding editor at Quartz Media who died in 2019 at the age of 37.

The fellowship funds projects proposed by women and nonbinary journalists from underrepresented backgrounds with grants of up to $2,000 to support:

  • Reporting that exposes under-reported and critical issues.
  • Ambitious projects that challenge under-reported media narratives.
  • Professional development to build field-based expertise and strengthen careers.
  • Skills training and leadership opportunities.

Journalists must be based in the U.S.

We don't promote organizations or brands that appear on the Boycott, Divest, Sanction list and, as such, are complicit in the genocide, apartheid, and illegal occupation of Palestine. This opportunity passes the Boycat App screening.
