Bradt Guides New Travel Writer of the Year is an annual competition that seeks out emerging voices in the industry.

In 2027, this competition offers you the chance to win a safari to South Africa and a commission to write up your prize-winning trip in the Wanderlust magazine.

To enter, submit an original 600–800 word piece inspired by an animal encounter.

The winner will be sent on an assignment to South Africa.

The trip for two includes three nights at a luxury lodge in a private reserve in the Sabi Sands or Greater Kruger, followed by two nights in Cape Town.

The prize includes return flights from London, internal flights, all game drives, meals on safari, all transfers, and travel insurance.
