Opportunity type: call for pitches

This editor at Business Insider is currently looking for pitches on the following topics:

  • Holidays. They're coming whether we're ready or not. They want new takes, not the same stories we've all read every December.
  • Parenting in the US vs. another country. You need to have actually raised kids in both. Tell them what surprised you, what you miss, what you'd never go back to.
  • Family travel. The trip your kids loved, and you hated. The one you were sure would be a disaster but turned out to be the best one yet.
  • Soft retirement. Easing out instead of stopping cold. How you're doing it and what it looks like day to day.
  • Leaning out. You stepped back on purpose. What did you give up, what did you get back?
  • Multigenerational life. Living under one roof, vacationing with three generations, all of it.

First-person essays are welcome.

Rates start at $240 for stories around 600 words.

💡
Take note: This is a below-average rate, with typical digital rates at reputable outlets going at $0.50 per word. Still, we're including this opportunity because of the reach that a Business Insider byline can garner.
😺
We don't promote organizations or brands that appear on the Boycott, Divest, Sanction list and, as such, are complicit in the genocide, apartheid, and illegal occupation of Palestine. This opportunity passes the Boycat App screening.
