Opportunity type: call for pitches

Business Insider's lifestyle editor is looking for pitches in the following areas:

  • Americans who have retired abroad
  • Individuals who have moved to be closer to aging parents, grandchildren, children (whether it worked out or didn't) — especially across countries
  • Those in unconventional living situations (moving in with in-laws, building a tiny home on dad's property, buying a house with friends)
  • People living in tiny homes or micro-studio apartments (under 200 square feet)
  • Individuals sustaining (or who have recently sustained) unconventional living situations for a job (ex: commuting by plane once a week, renting an RV near the office...)
  • Families who have moved abroad/people who have moved abroad for family (especially if it did not work out)

Rates start at $240 for stories around 600 words.

Submissions of interest will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

💡
Take note: This is a below-average rate, with typical digital rates at reputable outlets going at $0.50 per word. Still, we're including this opportunity because of the reach that a Business Insider byline can garner.
😺
We don't promote organizations or brands that appear on the Boycott, Divest, Sanction list and, as such, are complicit in the genocide, apartheid, and illegal occupation of Palestine. This opportunity passes the Boycat App screening.
