One of the proudest moments of my travel media career was getting my first story published in National Geographic.
It was the photo story about (and with the consent of) the Bedouin community in southern Jordan, the same community we will be meeting on our upcoming June trip to Jordan.

(The story is no longer available online, but you can see some of the images that went into it here.)
I used this publication in Nat Geo as a springboard to propel my travel media career, proceeding to partner with tourism boards across the globe–Sierra Leone, China, Japan, Finland, and many more–and working with numerous publications to produce stories that delivered on my storytelling mission.
I believe in what I do.
Telling stories about marginalized, Indigenous, and immigrant communities worldwide matters.
Decolonizing travel matters.
Finding pockets of hope that affirm our shared humanity across the barrage of terrible news matters too.
I've learned how to navigate the travel industry to accomplish my mission, finding platforms for my stories and tourism boards interested in working with me.
This February, I'll connect all the dots so that you can do that, too.
If that sounds timely and valuable to you, don't miss my upcoming live virtual masterclass, How To Work In Travel Media.
