Today, we're speaking with Vanessa Abbe, a travel advisor who joined me on my last group trip to Jordan.
Travel to Jordan has dropped 90% in some cases in the last two years.
In this conversation, I wanted to hear Vanessa's take on what it’s like to travel to Jordan for someone who’s never been, as we experienced the country largely empty of tourists together.
🐪 We are returning to Jordan next June 🐪
Join us June 5-14, 2026 on a 10-day trip to this country we love so much. We'll visit the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum, Amman, and many off-beaten spots in between. We'll meet a renowned artist who designed the country's newest currency, spend time with the Bedouins in the desert, and more.

An Impact Trip
Jordan’s tourism community has been devastated in the last few years, when most travelers canceled their plans due to safety concerns.
Sadly, these concerns do not match the reality on the ground. Jordan is safe, as it has always been, but its tourism communities are struggling to make ends meet.
I've traveled to Jordan over 20 times in the last decade.
Since Oct 7, 2023, I've been back several times as part of media trips and leading travelers. I've heard from many in the tourism community how challenging this time has been for them.
Your trip now can make a difference to help families in Jordan earn a much-needed livelihood.
