Opportunity type: a writing fellowship

This four-month fellowship is supporting both established and emerging scholars, writers, artists, journalists, and policy experts who wish to engage in independent study in Berlin.

If your work focuses on the humanities, social sciences, law, journalism, and various areas of public policy, they want to hear from you.

Fellows receive monthly stipends of $5000, round-trip airfare, accommodation in Berlin, partial board, and access to professional networking opportunities.

Fellowships are open to citizens and permanent residents of the United States.

While project proposals need not focus on topics related to Germany, candidates should explain how a residency in Berlin would enhance their work.

We don't promote organizations or brands that appear on the Boycott, Divest, Sanction list and, as such, are complicit in the genocide, apartheid, and illegal occupation of Palestine. This opportunity passes the Boycat App screening.

Apply for the 2027 Fellowship by the deadline of Friday, September 25, at 12:00 p.m. EST.
