A quarterly print magazine for backpackers is seeking pitches for its upcoming print issue, themed "Endurance."
They’re seeking stories for three sections: one piece for “The Experiment” column (800 words) featuring first-person backpacking “tests” like making your own gear or catching your food; one “Essay” offering original, creative reflections on endurance (avoid the obvious “I did something hard and overcame it” angle); and one feature tied to a desert backpacking trip, which can take the form of an adventure story, profile, or reported piece.
The rate starts at $0.50 per word.
