I'm staying put this summer, not traveling anywhere as I get through my backlog of stories and pitches from this back-to-back, busy Spring.

Inside this time of stillness, I'm called to offer teaching again. If learning with me has crossed your mind in the past, keep reading:

➡️ First, I'm opening up my individual mentorship program this July.

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with me, 1:1, to gain entrance into the world of freelance travel media.

If you have an idea that's burning in your chest, if you want to travel to fascinating places and report on their cultures, if you're curious about working with travel publications, brands, and tourism boards – this opportunity is for you.

During this 12-week individual mentorship, we'll work together to accomplish your goals. We will meet once every four weeks on Zoom and communicate via WhatsApp and email

I will guide you into this industry and teach you everything I've learned over a decade-plus of working as a travel journalist.

All you need is a willingness to show up, listen, learn, and apply the lessons.

Mentorship dates are Monday, July 13, through Friday, Oct 2.

Doors open next Monday, June 8.

If you feel called to work with me, keep your eyes on the upcoming announcement.

➡️ Here are two other ways you can learn with me:

Last call for Chile presenting partners

Wherever this summer is taking you, you can also expect to travel to Chile with us.

Set in the narrowest country in the world that is home to wildly diverse regions and peoples, this storytelling package will take you from the arid plateaus of the Atacama in the north to the highest peaks of Patagonia in the south.

We can't wait to share all the stories with you!

If you want to put your work in front of people who care about traveling consciously as our presenting partner, reply to this email for details – or email me at hello@goingplacesmedia.com.

Our presenting partner will be mentioned in every story and social post, plus we'll run a full-length feature on their work.

💡
Last day for partners to join is next Wednesday, June 10th.

A Brazil panel in Chicago next week

Next week, I'm participating in an event in Chicago dedicated to Brazil.

I'll be meeting other travel professionals – travel advisors, tour operators, and industry leaders – and learning more about Brazilian regions like Embratur, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, and others.

I'll also speak on a panel about my experience visiting Parana (which I loved!).
