Opportunity type: paid creative opportunity

A new fund is seeking to excavate, validate, and revive forgotten research in a wide variety of fields.

The goals of this experimental fund is to excavate forgotten or marginalized knowledge and to model alternative approaches to knowledge discovery itself.

Applications are open to anyone with an idea, worldwide: academics, independent researchers, artists, scientists, archivists, translators.

The fund cares about the quality of the inquiry and depth of engagement, not your institutional affiliation or credentials.

Types of projects funded include:

  • Continuing research along promising lines of inquiry that lost institutional support
  • Recovery and curation of unpublished manuscripts, interviews, or proceedings
  • Original analysis examining overlooked research teams, labs, or intellectual traditions
  • Translation and critical editions of historically significant texts in non-dominant languages

Selected projects will receive up to $25,000 in funding to produce the body of research.
