Opportunity type: creative contest

A brand in the US is looking to fund a dream for one lucky winner this Fall.

This isn't one of those lengthy applications: all you have to do to apply is submit a short statement explaining what you would do with a year off. As the brand says, "you don't have to be practical, just passionate," when entering to win.

I, for example, wrote three sentences about using a year (and $100,000) to write my non-fiction book that challenges harmful stereotypes of places around the world through nuanced, complex stories.

The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. only at this time. (Editorial note: we aim to share opportunities that are open to audiences worldwide. This one is a rare exception.)

Submit by the deadline of September 30.
